Our Ambassador, Supernature Oils has secured a listing for several of its multi award-winning cold pressed rapeseed oil products to an up-market grocery retailer in Dubai. With 51 outlets across the United Arab Emirates, SPINNEYS is one of the leading supermarket chains in the Middle East. Spinneys has a reputation for forward-thinking, keeping pace with changes in cooking trends, and the emergence of new products worldwide.

The Midlothian-based company now has several of its popular Infused cold pressed rapeseed oils, its Gift packs, as well as its White and Black truffle oils on the shelves in SPINNEYS. Rapeseed oil is the fastest growing sector of the oils category in the UK, and is worth around £7.2 million*, with Scottish Rapeseed Oil growing well in 2015. Sales of cold-pressed rapeseed oil in Scotland have grown by 18* per cent in the past year, with 33,000* new shoppers buying the product for the first time. Scottish cold pressed rapeseed oil is also now growing its reputation worldwide as a high quality, great-tasting alternative to olive oil, with Scottish producers now exporting to several countries. It’s a very interesting market which is just switching onto the wonders of cold pressed rapeseed oil, and I think there is huge potential there.’ Supernature Oils was born in 2011 when founder, and former psychotherapist, Lynn Mann and husband Chris Mann, saw a downturn in commodity prices for the wheat and barley they were growing, so they turned to diversification, growing, pressing, filtering and bottling products on their site at Carrington Barns Farm near Edinburgh. Crucially, Chris chose to grow a spring rather than a winter variety, which is planted in April and harvested in September, its natural rapid growth in the long daylight hours of a Scottish summer, produce a very smooth, high quality of oil. Packed with nutrients, it has a delightful buttery taste that makes it perfect for everything from salad dressings and dips, to roasting and baking. The oils have become a firm favourite in the kitchen of top chefs including Martin Wishart, who uses the products in his Michelin-star restaurant.
