Saltire Fellowship- Scotland’s world class leadership development programme
The Saltire Fellowship is a world-class, experiential, international programme designed to promote a global and entrepreneurial mindset in Scotland. It blends teaching at the top ranked business school in the world for entrepreneurship, Babson College, and at Strathclyde Business School (ranked as the number one Business School in the UK for 2016 by the Times) with hands-on experience.
Delivered over two continents, it provides participants with the critical skills and insights they need to realise their full potential through a combination of theoretical and practical learning. The programme is led by successful entrepreneurs – people who understand the needs of businesses and the challenges of operating in highly competitive environments. It is designed to meet the specific business needs of the companies taking part and provides a step change or an acceleration of career for the individual fellow. By partnering with Entrepreneurial Scotland, the company route will provide businesses with the opportunity to develop, retain or attract the best talent in Scotland and beyond.
The Saltire team will work with organizations to develop a custom case that provides an opportunity for the cohort and the Babson Faculty to explore approaches for dealing with a specific business challenge your company is facing.
WES Ambassador, Dr Suzanne Doyle Morris, 2013 Fellow, Founder and CEO, inclusIQ “As a small business owner, it was a risk to take a ‘leave of absence’ for 3 months and invest in the Fellowship. It wasn’t easy, but being a business owner never is - and in the end, I even remotely won the largest piece of consultancy work I’d had to-date using some of the sales techniques I was learning at Babson. In the first year after my return, I went from being a virtual sole trader to a team of 7, including another Saltire Fellow, David Toy, and a Saltire Scholar. It certainly hasn’t been easy - but I believe the only way to stay on top of your game is to constantly reinvent and the Saltire Foundation gave me an even larger platform for reinvention than I could have anticipated.”
Rachael Brown, 2015 Fellow, CEO, Cultural Enterprise Office
"It's hard to put into words how much the fellowship changed my life. I was at a cross roads in my career. I had worked at a senior level for many years, I felt my skills were disappearing & I was treading water. The fellowship renewed my toolbox, gave me the confidence to tackle some really big leadership opportunities & gave me access to a network I hugely respect. If you are open, ambitious & ready then could the fellowship be for you?"
There are two routes to becoming a Fellow; one is through Open Enrolment and the other via employer sponsorship. Register your interest here or learn more by going to the Entrepreneurial Scotland website.
