First Women’s Leadership Programme for Local Business Owners Gets Green Light in Glenrothes
Women’s Enterprise Scotland is working with Fife Council Economic Development and Business Gateway Services in Fife to run the first women’s leadership programme of its kind at the new Enterprise Hub in Glenrothes.
The twelve month programme – led by WES - launches on 15 June and consists of four workshops spread out over the year, interspersed with online content and support. It is aimed at women business owners looking to lead their businesses through growth to become sustainable, high performing organisations. It is also aimed at female home-based business owners who aspire to progress their business to the next level.
Jennifer Lindsay-Finan, Communications and Training Manager at WES said; “Resilient, successful businesses start with strong leadership. The Lead with WES programme will help businesswomen increase their confidence in leadership by enabling them to strategically analyse their business against their vision for the future. It is designed to support them in developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to grow their business. We will also help them identify their own leadership style and develop their leadership and management skills to fully embed their learning into their business.”
Pamela Stevenson, Fife Council Economic Development Lead Officer said; “This is a welcome
addition to our existing entrepreneurial leadership programme and subsequent leadership masterclasses. Aimed specifically at small business female owners in Fife, we hope that by setting goals and visions for their business at the outset of the programme, that these can be realised through the workshops, online content and one-to-one support over the twelve months. It is intended that this programme will dovetail alongside our existing economic development and business gateway delivery services, ensuring female business leaders are given every opportunity to succeed and grow.”
The first of the four Lead with WES workshops runs on 15 June from 10am until 4pm at the new Enterprise Hub in Glenrothes. Subsequent workshops to complete the programme will run in September, November and January 2018. Places are limited and can be booked by visiting
