After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we're delighted to launch the Women's Enterprise Scotland Awards 2022, as part of our 10th Anniversary celebrations.
These prestigious awards will be presented at our glittering evening event to celebrate the talents of women across Scotland - and help to create more role models to inspire the next generation of leading businesswomen.

This year there are 10 categories to choose from so if you run a business or know a woman-led business that has achieved great things, please apply or nominate now. The closing date for all entries is Monday 15th August 2022.

The evening will begin with a drinks reception, followed by a 3 course dinner and awards ceremony.

Award Categories
You will find information about each category below. Please select to apply or nominate for your chosen category. You may select more than one but each one must be a separate application. Here is a copy of the questions so you can prepare your responses in advance of completing the form. Once you have started the form is must be completed without leaving the site. The closing date for all entries is Monday 15th August 2022.
There is no cost for submitting an application or nomination. All applications will go through initial sifting and finalists will be assessed by the judging panel to decide the winner of each category. START-UP BUSINESS OF THE YEAR (Up to 3 years old)
This award celebrates the entrepreneurial aptitude, vision, ambition, drive and commercial acumen to build a woman-led successful enterprise in Scotland from start-up.
GROWTH BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
This award celebrates Scotland’s growing women-led businesses and recognises those that have achieved growth and financial performance. It recognises the businesses who have best demonstrated an understanding of their competitors, customers, and markets they operate in; and have the foundations in place for continued commercial success.
OUTSTANDING BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
(Over 3 years, up to 250 employees, up to £12 million turnover)
This award recognises the development and growing success of an established woman led business in Scotland, looking at clear values and purpose, business growth, strong financial performance, profitability, and brand awareness achieved in relation to the number of employees and budget.
INSPIRING LEADER OF THE YEAR
This award recognises a business leader (male or female) in Scotland who has contributed to enhancing the landscape for women led businesses. Entrants must demonstrate support and involvement with the women led business community and play an instrumental role in enabling women to start up in business and thrive.
FUNDED BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
This award recognises the women-led businesses in Scotland attracting funding or investment to support development and growth. Entrants may have secured funding from a variety of sources, including banks, equity finance, angel investment, commercial finance or banks.
ADAPTIVE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
This award is for a business which has successfully adapted since 2020, in the face of significant challenges, and can demonstrate growth and business continuity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
EMBRACING TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS
This award recognises the women-led businesses in Scotland that have harnessed technology as part of their digital transformation in order to deliver growth, open up new markets or provide new ways of working.
NET ZERO BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
This award celebrates the businesses that have made significant progress in reducing their carbon emissions as part of the transition to becoming net-zero.
COLLABORATIVE CHAMPION
This award recognises businesses or organisations that have collaborated to overcome challenges, with outstanding results. Entrants must demonstrate an effective collaboration which has addressed and overcome an identified business issue.
PURPOSE-LED BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
This award is for a business which can demonstrate that it stands for something it believes in, going beyond profit and positively impacting society. The winner will be able to demonstrate that its business model has real purpose, by standing for and taking action on something bigger than its products and services.
